I purchased this truck about 20 years ago, forgot what year it is, think it is 1951, have title, but don't remember where it is, need to use the truck, but do not know what batteries to put in it and do not know if it is gas or diesel. It has two battery compartments, one on each side, behind the two saddle tanks. Each compartment is approximatly 15"X17" and have two rubber straps holding the covers down. There is a small tag on the front of the dash that reads MBR on the top line and 416 on the bottom line. The truck has a five speed transmission with a two speed rear end. I used the truck hauling heavy loads of gold filled mud up steep dirt hills in the woods. It had more power than any truck I ever drove and I really enjoyed the ride. I think it had four batteries in it and they might have been 6 volts each, but do not remember the total voltage to the starter. The special battery cables are still there and I believe I can figure out how to place them, but would like to be sure. I am friends with the man I purchased the truck from, could ask him what year it is, could check with the DMV, but would rather solve it this way. I will take a picture of it tomorrow and figure out how to post it, which should make it much easier to identify. I looked at the engine, saw two valve covers for three cylinders each, the engine protrudes into the cab a couple feet and has a carpeted box enclosing that portion. I did not see any spark plugs, so it may be a diesel, could probably tell if I pulled some fuel out of the tanks and smelled it, but it is old and might not smell. I need to pull an 8000 pound Atlas Copco Air Compressor 8 miles down the highway, no faster than 15 miles per hour and then I need to haul many extremely heavy loads through the woods. I am sure you will be able to help me with this and thank you for being here. I am 71 years old and drove dump trucks most of my life, but they were all Internationals. I started with a 1949 KB7 gas and we became very good friends. Wally
