HK Trucking Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 My dad was a mechanic for Gulf and they bought a bunch of 88 R models with T2060s in them and he could not get it through to the drivers you only split first gear but they still tried splitting every gear anyway.The ratios don't work out for split shifting anyhow. Challenger Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 That will be all well & good until the truck gets into some soft ground or has to start off loaded on a steep hill & the driver smokes the clutch trying to get it moving without lo lo.Thats why it becomes the owner's choice.
