This is the same one, couldn't be two of them. Who ever did the conversion appears to have been a craftsman. The fit looks almost like a factory build. Paul

There is a group of 4 old Hendrickson pics for sale on ebay. One is of the super-rare set forward front axle model, that you just didn't see around. Here is a pair built for someone.Note the dead (non-driving) front axle (pusher) in the tandems. These are not as long hooded as the traditional set back axle models were. I do believe they made a few that were, though. Al

In my 35 years of fire apparatus photography, I have only managed to capture one of these. In fact, in my over 50 years of chasing fire apparatus, it is the only one I know about!

I think your right,Ranchopper. Have a HDT reprint when they introduced them and the late Earl (Thunderbird) Campbell (long time MEYER driver) tested the truck. Will have to scan that. Since Earl (of S. Elgin) just passed away in the last couple of weeks, many of his fellow employees asked me for a copy. Al

l remember seeing Hendricksons in Chicago back around '78-'80. I delivered candy from Boston (Schrafft's, Doran's, Nabisco) for Polar Transport of Hanover Ma. I also have the C/J doubles from Matchbox, whats left of them. l let my son play with them way back when.  Hippy
