We are trying to find engine torque settings for our 866 engine. Our local dealers have long since discarded service manuals on these engines as they have gone out of service.

We would also like to find the correct head bolt tensions, main bearing tensions and big end bolt tensions for the 866.

Can anyone help us out?

There is 7 pages of "Fits and Limits" for the ENDT866 in the TS442 servce manual (mine is from '75).The book is too big to put on my scanner, sorry.Maybe the Mack Museum can help? Head bolt torque-225 ft/lbs Main bearing torque(12 point)-350 ft/lbs Also says "main bearing buttress screw"-100 ft/lbs& "mainbearing buttress screw cover screw" (long & short)-80 ft/lbs. Big end bolt ? (Could you specify) Hope this helps.

Thank you for looking it up. We are in Australia and have tried all contacts that we could from our end. Perhaps you could just look at these 3 settings and post back, as that is all we need.

We have manuals for END864 engines and E9 engines but no information on the ENDT866. Cheers
