Old Bill just happened to send me some magazines he found in his closet. One was Canadian, the other was a Truckin' Life from Australia, from 2010. Very good pictures and articles, even had an article about the Iowa 80 Truckstop, kinda neat to read because it was in the Australian magazine, little different point of view than we might have.

Anyway, I copied some pictures from it.

Nice B and Diamond T's inside the front cover.

Check out the sleeper on this 190 International.

There's a Superliner (Titan) up in there somewhere!

Some Superliners (Superliners)

Haven't seen any cabovers like this around these parts.

That legendary SAR Kenworth looks pretty neat,eh?

So does this-

Those cabovers are of the same kind as the one had front bumper thrown out near the lake in Russia.

Although somebody noted Australians built them with R-model frames. Or some bunch of them.

Great pics from the mag. Thanks for showing them.

The Cabover is a Mack 'Quantum'. It uses the cab of the Renault, with Mack chassis and running gear. IDSTBC.

There is an error in one of the pics in the magazine that refers to the legendary Kenworth SAR.

The pic is of an S-900, not an SAR. An SAR is a W-900SAR, An SAR is a W-900.

The SAR was an Australian designed truck, the S was an American truck.

The S was the 60's truck, the SAR was a 70's truck.

Thanks, I just quoted the caption, I had no idea what it was. I've seen another one of them on Hank's Truck Pictures, but I wasn't about to repost that one! Cool looking truck though.

And thanks for the other info!

No worries, I was refering to the pic in the magazine, not what you wrote, after all it's in the magazine.

Thanks veeight, I really had no clue what it was, it's certainly a neat looking truck though. The magazine was right about the "head turner" part- I would drive that!

I think they built them with R model chassis so the steering box would fit on the right side and not be chain linked :)

All the best
