Its a 1986 International S1900 with a DT466 and 13 speed. It has had the same driver since new. Your point REEL sounds logical. I think another reason is to keep tare weights as low as possible for doing ton/mile work. I have never done ton/mile, and never will ( I'm to slow) so I don't know much about it.Funny thing, when I replaced my dump box everyone told me to cut off the cab shield , but I think an R needs a cab shield to look right, even if it is a small one.
