My MH tank straps were in sad shape so I pulled the tank to replace 1 strap and paint the other 2. I am replaceing all the strap backing rubber and had the tank shined. I found the tank baffle was broken loose so had the end cut open and re-welded the baffle. I am about ready to reinstall the tank but do not know what value to torque the straps. I asked my Mack dealer service manager and he said he did not know there was one. Does any one know? These are 3 metal steel straps on an aluminum 120 gallon tank. Thanks.

I don't have all the books, but I couldn't come up with torque number for the straps.

Maybe start at 50-60 lbs and monitor them after some miles. See if they rotate or the rubber settles in a little.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

About that much and 1/2 turn more... :whistling:

Seriously...send Barry a note and see if he can porvide the correct torque. Otherwise, follow Jim's suggestion. I would suggest supporting the tank while tightening.
