I've never seen an amphibious excavator before. That thing is neat! Hate to throw a track in the water though, lol. We've got a Cat E70B at work, it's child's play compared to these though, lol

Damn flipper is what they are. Most places that rent them castrate them and you can only pull or lift up close. You'll pull yourself under or over in a sex if not careful. Always interesting bobing around like a giant bobber in the intercostal trying to cross

I didn't think they were meant to "swim". I thought the wide tracks and pontoons were to decrease ground pressure, so you can go ito marshes, bogs and flats

This wasn't bad, only 4 to 7 feet of water and pretty flat bottom. This one has a pitch fork blade on it for clearing out some kind of invasive water plant from China meant for fish tanks. Takes over the entire pond and kills off everything else including fish and such. Even birds get tangled up in the runners. Have to go 1 to 1 1/2 feet into the bottom to get the roots out and than the water and sediment is and filtered to kill off the weeds. $4.7 million to do the 2 small lakes and connecting streams.

Oh yeah they'll float. Come of land is a real adventure when it sinks and water starts coming in the pops back up. Would reach out and down at the same time as it started to nose dive then pick straight up after you pull yourself forward. Then out and down again. Probably not meant to go all out boating but they make one hell of a fishing pier

my dad's friend's CAT in his quarry

attachicon.gifImage11092013102319.jpg

looks like an old 350, nice machines just the right weight and balance for a 60" x 60" mass excavation bucket or a shallow 72"x 48-60", you can load trucks in a hurry with one for sure and they don't rock nearly as much as a 330C or D with a 60" mass bucket.

Saw this Liebehrr 984 and the back of these Daewoo's at the Con Expo in Vegas back in 05. Think I was actually going for the

tower crane in the Daewoo shot. I'm going to this show again March 2014. Kick ass show. I would highly recommend if

anybody gets a chance to go, do it!! Only comes around every three years.

Was taken in Hillburn last week. There is a definite story on this and why it's on a Conforti trailer. Hopefully one of the Conforti guys can give the details as I can only assume.

Rob

I must be missing something?Definetly a big machine and big trailer. Looks almost like a Cozad but has a Diamond look about it also

Carbro is doing the next phase of sewer work in the Village of Sloatsburg which is right up the street. They brought the machine up with their tri axle CL and quad lowboy. That was 3 weeks ago and the machine is sitting right now 500 yards up the street up on blocks and the tracks and under carriage off of her. The reason I didn't want to assume was that Conforti had their tri Pete tractor up there with 3 or 4 troopers two seperate times going over this and each time they unhooked again and left the trailer in front of Jans Me A Car's towing yard. The troopers meet you in Mahwah just before the border in NY and escort you to the Hillburn exit and their is a parking area by the light where everybody with oversize gets inspected there before you can continue in NY. I'm just assuming how much time and money is being lost with this machine being stuck in the same spot for so long. I'm guessing the troopers didn't like something with Conforti's setup.

It's a perfect spot to get everybody because Rt 17, 287 and the Thruway all merge right there. They are still talking about putting a new weigh station in right in Mahwah off of 287. I guessing too it was a weight thing I was just interested as I pass this everyday what the Conforti guys input was. I still for the life of me can't figure out where they would use that size machine on sewer work with the size of the streets in Sloatsburg.

Pipe size,How hard is the rock and also how much they want to do a day. In S.Fl they are using Pc 650's750's, 800's and 365 or 375 cats just for underground. In South Dad they rock is hard and shallow

Most of the grading and utilities companies here use 330 CAT, PC400 Komatsu sized excavators, the Limestone is too hard to dig they have to drill and shoot it first.

Saw this out there last week. Very impressive to see one on a trailer like that.

Yea it was Vic. Every day at the same time around 3:30 there they were 4 troopers and two escorts and the Pete and then the next morning no Pete the trailer in the same spot.
