My transport company has various models of Mack trucks, and we want to control their speeds to a certain speed limit based on the speed limit our clients gave our drivers, so I want to know how to carry out this task.

We have Mack vision, year- 1999, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, etc.

Please any useful tip or information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Those are probably all electronic engines, so the speed limiting is done by the V-MAC engine control computer. In some cases you can get the software and set the engine speed yourself, in other cases you may need to take the truck to a Mack dealer and pay them do it.

@Pedigreed, please you have a good idea of what I need, can you kindly refer me to any website or company or technician that can assist me with the V-MAC engine control computer and software to enable me set the engine speed myself? Thanks in anticipation of your good response.

@JTFormula Yes I am in Nigeria. Can't I get the softwares and operation manual to do it myself? Please guys help me out here...I need this information urgently. I would appreciate any useful information.

Welcome to the site from across the way. I am sure one of the guys can help you get the right equipment and software required.

I'd suggest talking to the Mack dealer there in Nigeria, to at least get an idea what they'd charge to reprogram the trucks or sell you the software to do so yourself. You can try shopping for the software on eBay and such, but it might be tough to find- I worked for one of the biggest Mack fleets, the U.S. Postal Service, and they never bought the software despite the fact they had over a thousand Macks in their fleet.
