Those were known as the HMM, one man cab that tilts to the side for engine access. This was Mack's first venture into a front discharge mixer chassis.

When we think of one-man half-cab vocational chassis, we probably tend to think of Crane Carrier. But Freightliner was quite active in this segment as well, begining with the WFHT in the 1960s and leading to the Uni-Body in the 1970s.

The Mack HMM Front-Runner was ahead of its time.

Great pictures and info. According to a Mack Model Production sheet I came across there were 14 HMM685's and 130 HMM6856's produced.
