Fort drum new york. Thats like 2 minutes from Nana and Papa's. never knew they had any Macks.

I like how it says Vehicle was driven onto lot then Vehicle does not start or run. Must have been fun driving onto lot without running or its been sitting there a long time.

the DE Mil process is a lot of red tape and when they go to inspect it if it wont start they just mark will not start/run, probably dead batteries, if it was down they would have fixed it then parked it for a year or two then sold it they have procedures that make almost every vehicle get repaired no matter how old until its deemed excess then it sits in a lot till they get their paperwork done. I think one of these would be a great piece of history, I mean come on military Mack to take to a truck show most people never knew existed.

I buy off GL a lot, the descriptions are always crap, theres red tape when you win an auction , etc.

I know there is still a couple of those C-model Dodges around, the trouble with those trucks is that they have a top speed of about 40mph! some of those Dodges had less then 1,000 mi on em

Quite a few of these Macks, and Dodges, became fire tankers after their military service was over. While they may not be the optimum fire tanker, they probably work for a small department

that cannot afford anything fancier (those departments do exist).

A lot of them got in trouble and rolled them over in there new life as fire tankers. Water is heaver then fuel and because they never left the tar mack no baffles ether on most.
