Timing event sensor is the sensor that screws into the side of the injection pump.

The Rack actuator is internal to the injection pump and will need to have the pump removed from the engine in most cases.

The 2 codes can sometimes pop up together if the large grey plug near the injection pump becomes loose or worn causing a bad connection.

Check the plug for loose pins or broken wires at that plug harness before you go start replacing the expensive stuff.
