well if everyone has not heard we experienced some major flooding, one dead, 100's of cars destroyed, homes and everything else last Friday Night in our neighboring town of Ft Plain Ny. somehow we are less than 2 miles away and got spared this time, 7 years ago to the day our town, Canajoharie Ny got flooded along with Ft Plain when the Mohawk river overflowded. (gotta thank the tree huggers for not wanting the channel dredged and being able to handle the capacity of water). been a rough few days and its bitter sweet for out business as we rent equipment and storage, had dozens of calls for renting backhoes and dozers and renting storage units. feel sorry for the 100's of people affected. the state and Fire Depts have been busy cleanin up FEET of mud from the streets and hosing everything down after the water receeded. they are still on the hunt for an elderly ladies body who refused to leave her trailer and it later got swept down stream and collided with a bridge. just the day beore we had two CSX trains collide one town down also . there is a video on youtube called ''Our Town'' showin some of the flood footage. been dozens of Macks and Mack state trucks haulin mud and sludge and logs and debris out but I feel guilty takin pictures of peoples loss.

Hope all you guys are well down there Matt. We're getting lotsa rain up here but no floods. And damn I didn't know two trains collided. When I go to Utica I see trains all the time. When I was at your grandfathers place I noticed the river behind all the trucks, how high does that come up?

I've heard that already insurance companies are stating to play the con game. Now that authorities have declared a state of emergency the insurance companies are hedging their bets that the Feds will come in pay people for their losses.

yup, and its hard to find guys that wanna go in and help clean up with their equipment and dumptrucks and brooms and tractors cause no one knows who is gonna take care of the bill . I know tons of my friends that are contractors and wanna help but FEMA screwed everyone the last time when we got flooded in Scoharie County over a year ago. heard some people had to wait 6 months to a year to get their money out of the government. the state will pay for fuel I guess but when you have 4-5 guys workin for you and have to pay them then wait 6 months to get reimbursed by the state or feds its bullshit. we are getting terrentual downpour rain right now actually. and the Water got over the river bank and up beind the garage vinster, the culvert up by the road god clogged and the water came across the road, washed out the neighbors whole yard next door and he still has not found his lawn mower, filled his whole basement with mud also. we spent hours the other day on the backhoe tryin to clear the creek out where it empties into the Mohawk river so the yard didn't flood. the State Dot was suppose to do it with a big excavator but they are too busy with everything else

This is all taking place just 1 hour east of me. We are wet, but thankfully not flooded. that small area was holding there own until a levee broke in the small city of Oneida. Now they all just can not catch a break, there is another wave of storms setting up to pound that little valley again. and flood water still has not receded enough as of today for about 1/2 of the residents to go home. They have a 8 am to 8 pm curfew for the flooded areas & if you lived in the parts effected you must be escorted in. the have set up a public facebook page for sharing the photos of the damage here: https://www.facebook.com/cnyflooding

They are all in our thoughts.

Hard to believe at the base of Windham MTN, high elevation.

The shear power of water fueled by head pressure & gravity, as it finds the path of least resistance & erases all it encounters.

the Toy run we did last year with my B model that's in my photos was for the victims of Prattsville. we are planning one doin a run in September with my B model leading the way again in front of all the Harleys and all the benefits are going to the victims of Ft Plain. with all the water we received there was only one fatality, the elderly lady who refused to leave her home even when asked by Firefighters. her body was found in the locks of the Mohawk river yesterday afternoon.
