Pulled a few loads of ballast rock out of Paris today, thus thing could max me out (well almost, 33,000kg gvw) in a bucket and a half. Pit we used to go to had a smaller cat that needed 5 or 6 buckets......

Truck seems big till a 980 is beside you...,

We had a few 980's when I worked for Horan Sand and Gravel , I was always impressed by them.

We had one of the first 983's here in PA.Wasn't the best loader we had,it was always overheating, and the ass end was a little light. We all heated the first one dd went out and traded it in on another one.The best track loader we had over the years were the Komatsu D155S,it had a 6 and half yard bucket and all the balls you needed.

A friend of mine took this pic of a CAT loader that was sitting a little to high on this step deck. I guess the driver only made

it down the road a couple miles before the first bridge made short work of this tractor.

wonder how many teeth the driver lost in that mishap. who had to pay the bill?

its hard to beat a 980 for loading trucks, seems like they are the perfect size, that old 963 looks great, Ive seen 963C's in worse shape for sure
