Torsion bar suspension. It has about a 5ft long bar going to each wheel. Unique set up for sure. Not too popular anymore due to lack of parts for them and if they were not maintain(greased) they got tore up pretty good.

"Torture" Bar. My Dad drove one along time ago and he says they did good off road, but you had to keep them greased. He said that they would pick up the ass of the truck with a loader to take all the weight off of the suspension to grease it.

Yeah, and they had a lot of expensive parts on them. We used to have to replace the threaded pins, wood bushings, and shackles from time to time.
