I saw an H model in Amelia too, but didn't see it in time to get a picture. It is visible in the google earth street view though.

Ahhhh......Daisy Dukes the official shorts of Winfall.

The goats are done with that area unless they like eating dirt. That fence line must have been a bitch to install.

they come in from up top somewhere. I've never seen them there except late in the evening, when the hillside is in the shade. I think they go there to relax, i've seen them jumping around and playing there on those rocks

I worked on a CSX tie gang replacing ties up the spur to Mt. Storm, that is one curvy track up that mountain, we were there for two weeks and it was in early October, it was in the 30's-40's and drizzling rain the whole time, I was soaked thru every day, seemed like it took me a week to get my body temp back right. The only plus is we stayed at the closest hotel that could handle the whole team and it was a ski resort that was purty nice compared to the usual railroad hotels.

Oh and that last pic in the sand......................good god man!

There's a ski resort a little north of Oakland, Md, not far from Mt. Storm.

Alot of interesting this time.

It's beautiful to look at the road sceneries and enjoy seeing the goats again.

They're awesome for shure :)

Still don't understand how many miles you've done to meet a RW down the road.

This one looks great.

Glad you didn't allow to involve yourself into the desert action.

Your truck was so powerfull so you could get her out in a couple of seconds and as follow being stuck in Winfall for a long time because of her unlimited helpfulness.

They're really coming along with the four-lanes in that area. No one wants to see the beautiful countryside spoiled by a major highway, but those roads needed to be built. Still some amazing views.

Was the motorcycle wreck on 220 between Petersburg and Moorefield? I know it could be one of a 1000 locations, but that's what it reminds me of. Damn, I miss running down there (in nice weather).

Like the chicken.

Love the goats.

How much sandy coastline is there in Winfall?

I would run 259 up to RT 50 when heading to Winchester. I think that was when there was less 4-lane than there is now.

Nice little restaurant with truck parking in Wardensville. It's on the right (when heading east) just before 259 cuts off to the left.

they've got the corridor H 4 lane done from Wardensville to rt. 93 now. 259 is a good road from Broadway to Baker now too, a lot wider than it used to be. We used to run 259 to 50 going to Luke, Md. and it was skinny and crooked as a dog's leg. We'd come out on 50 by a store, little ways past Dennis Lupton trucking. Now I get on the 4 lane at Baker and cross the mountain to Moorefield and either take 220 north to 50, or continue west to 93, and 42 to 50 to 560 to Oakland and 219 north, depending on where i'm going. I like running that way, little traffic, few cops, haven't seen the DOT.

You guys are a bunch of dirty old men.

...and you're headed down the same path young fellow! But don't despair, there's still time to change your ways.

Moorefield to Baker is the only stretch I've been on. The first time I ran it was around '01 but I don't remember how much, if any, 4-lane I ran heading east from Moorefield. The last time I was in the area, it wasn't open west of 220.

Heading down the same path? He's blazing the trail!
