I look into their shop at all the newer trucks and tell them I don't have enough money for payments and repairs. come to think of it, I don't think ive ever seen a R model in their shop.David, that is what I am trying to find. David Posted August 24, 2013 Share Posted August 24, 2013 The side mounts are ok for a wet line. The rear mount Mack PTO was designed for dump trucks where spreading was necessary. With the side mounts you must have the main stick in gear to run the pto and you can never get the speed of the truck to match the lift speed of the body for spreading. The rear mounts run without the stick in gear so you can choose any gear for spreading. They came in three ratios. Somewhere around 77, 99, and 124% of engine speed and were (are) expensive. Lmackattack Posted August 24, 2013 Share Posted August 24, 2013 I have the mack rear mount pto for my 6 speed...The Mack pto part numbers were in some of the service books that mack made for the service dept. it had info for everything from orings to internal parts ....IMHO the rear mount is the only way to go on the 6 speed or 12 speed... MACKPARTS603 Posted November 27, 2013 Share Posted November 27, 2013 THERE WERE 2 DIFFERENT AIR SHIFT SETUPS DEPENDING IF YOU HAD THE SMALL 51% PTO OR THE LARGER 75 OR 90 % PTOS. I BELEIVE MOST OF THE PARTS ARE STLL AVAILABLE, JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT PTO YOU HAVE. gearhead204 Posted November 28, 2013 Share Posted November 28, 2013 the t1070 used a small air slave cylinder about 1 1/2 x 4 if memory serves me and a air switch similar to a power divider sw.had a93 rd 688 with this set up. you would just have to match the throw of the cyl. to the cable or linkage arm and drill a hole in the arm and fab a bracket to anchor it to.
