Hey, I just bought a 1983 Mack Cruiseliner with a hood knuckleboom loader on the back. I log with horses and this is my new rig, but it needs some work before I can put it on the road. This is my first piece of large equipment and I want to learn more about the truck and get some leads on where to get parts.

How much information is out there, in terms of repairs and specs? For instance repair manuals or publications, like a Haynes or a Chiltons for big trucks?

If I call my VIN in to Mack, will they be able to tell me about the truck (e.g. engine, suspension, brakes etc.)?

And where would one look for parts to restore this old girl?
