alum. fuel tank also. very solid truck. good candidate to restore or put a dump on. think I can pick it up for low price. and vinny, it has two sticks and no kick stand.

I didn't realize they offered alum square tanks. Was that an option back then? I'd really like to have them for my truck. Been talking of making my own, but if they are out there?

I think "L" in a serial number means aluminum frames?

only in the western models as the 2nd letter,or 3rd in the case of the early Superliners,RL,FL,WL,RWL. I really don't think the fuel tank alone would give it a "LS" status,but in the case it had other alum. components,a DM607LS would be really rare I'd think.

yup, aluminum spring hangers and tranny cases and rear end hogs heads might make it an L truck but kinda odd if a DM was an L like Mike said. of course Brockway had a similar tank and they were aluminum and I believe they were all made by Snyder Tanks out of Buffalo Ny. at least the early B tanks were

It looks like an old Dewitt ready mix truck, as they were big in western New York at that time.

Boy, hadn't thought of B.R. DeWitt in some time. He was a big sponsor for Richie Evans.
