I am redoing my 85 Superliner which came from factory with the extended front bumper. First, I was curious as to what it was for compared to a stock bumper, and second was wondering if anyone could point me in what direction to go in to try to get a new one. My Mack parts man says he only has a listing on a painted one and not chrome, and that it is obselete. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure but the extended maybe the one you see on some other members trucks that is forward of the radiator and the ends flair back in to meet the edge of the fender. The other common bumper is the flush mount that are straight all the way across and are pretty flush to to the nose. I have given you couple of pics of trucks.

Check to see what the Mack dealer has. There are variations in those bumpers. EX: driving light holes.

They are expensive from Mack but I haven't seen a good alternative.
