Hello. Wonder if anyone out there can help ? Am based in England (UK) and have a R719LS (1970).

It's has the quadreplex gearbox set up (5spd + 4 spd) and is fitted with a PTO located on the passengers side of gearbox.

I'd like to remove said PTO and 'blank off', but has anyone any advice before I just go undoing bolts etc. Will oil flow out ? Will internal parts fall out ?

I'm sure I can have made up a suitable 'blanking off' plate securely affixed and sealed.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Phil

Straight forward. Remove the bolts and cover back up. Yup, there is oil there.

May want to remove the drain plug from trans. so oil draining will be more under control!

Shouldn't have any loose parts.

PS. We will need pictures!

Jim

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

How did you find an R719 in England? They are a rare truck. As mentioned above, drain oil first, undo the nuts on your PTO/pump assembly, remove PTO//pump assembly, then a gear adapter comes off behind it. You will be left with long studs. Best way is to remove studs and replace with short bolts to go through your cover. Skip
