Daimler Trucks North America will build a new $150 million headquarters in Portland, Oregon.

The truck maker said in a press conference Sept. 13 it expects the 265,000-square foot facility to be completed by 2016.

City and state tax incentives will cover about 10% of the project’s cost and the company said it will make 400 new white-collar hires.

Daimler Trucks North America CEO Martin Daum made the announcement with Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber (D) and Portland Mayor Charlie Hales.

There was speculation that the new headquarters could lead to the closing of offices at Daimler’s facilities in North and South Carolina, but the company recently sent an email to employees saying it had no plans to close its locations there.
