I don't know F's at all but my gut says offer $2,500-3,000 if it runs well and the cab is relatively solid and tires fair. It could be a great resource and I know I'd like to have it. I have no idea what the newer stuff decodes to....I knew the "5" didn't mean V8 like in B models. Superdog Posted September 21, 2013 Share Posted September 21, 2013 I think "somebody" should wtite a book(or even a webpage)with all the details/changes of these old Macks through the years.A book/buyers guide would be GREAT to bring while truck hunting,and going to show's ect...Quite awhile back3,4,5 years ago maybe, I posted a pretty complete list of the 2 digit engine codes,that Mack started using in '62 with the introduction of the F model,and remained pretty much unaltered until '83 with the start of the MH. It had a lot of the really oddball stuff like the 555 Cummins,1160 Cat,6V53 Detroit. Is there anyway to go back that far and search? I don't know how many I could do off the top of my head anymore and it's been about that long since I've seen my old notebook from my years at the Nelson Academy of Advanced Mack Studies .
