What is overall condition? Been run/driven lately?

F models can have some interesting rust issues. How does the cab look?

Where should I look for weird rust out that I may over look?

That's nice and stubby. I dig it. I don't know F's at all but my gut says offer $2,500-3,000 if it runs well and the cab is relatively solid and tires fair.

I don't know why I said interesting rust? Rust is rust!

Sometimes seen the creepy crud work pretty good on the front "fenders" but in the pics this doesn't look too bad.

Running and driving is good.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Somebody should put together a master model number decoder on here that is easy to find. It could be a great resource and I know I'd like to have it. I have no idea what the newer stuff decodes to....I knew the "5" didn't mean V8 like in B models. An 85 would be a fire truck in the earlier years...etc. How do we get that done?

I think "somebody" should wtite a book(or even a webpage)with all the details/changes of these old Macks through the years.A book/buyers guide would be GREAT to bring while truck hunting, and going to show's ect...

Quite awhile back3,4,5 years ago maybe, I posted a pretty complete list of the 2 digit engine codes, that Mack started using in '62 with the introduction of the F model, and remained pretty much unaltered until '83 with the start of the MH. It had a lot of the really oddball stuff like the 555 Cummins,1160 Cat,6V53 Detroit. Is there anyway to go back that far and search? I don't know how many I could do off the top of my head anymore and it's been about that long since I've seen my old notebook from my years at the Nelson Academy of Advanced Mack Studies . One of these days I'll learn how to back stuff up on this damn thing.
