Popular Post BrockMan Posted October 7, 2013 Popular Post Share Posted October 7, 2013 Hello everyone! Im rather new to the forum and I have a couple Questions reguarding a turck I have. The truck In question is a 1970 Mack R719ST. The truck is in overall Great shape for the year. The cab is rather solid with an exelant Double frame. It still has the Twin turbo 864 V8 at the bow, with a Quadbox and a nice set of 44's at the rear. The 864 spun a bearing years ago. The truck sat since the early 90's on a hill at a farm. I bought it from the guy about a year ago and its been sitting in my yard looking good. I was wondering how many were made? Is this a rare Truck? should I put another V8 in it? ( I do have a newer Endt 865 that runs rather well.) LoL I also have a Yard full of Detroits from 6-to12s ready to roll. All in all Im looking to hear what the men have to say. Maddog13407 Posted October 7, 2013 Share Posted October 7, 2013 nice R700. looks like its in nice shape except that cursed bent driverside cowl. looks like someone backed up with the door open and caught it. my R600 cab has the same thing and im thinkin on how to fix it myself to bend the whole door jamb back. Superdog Posted October 7, 2013 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Dan Thomas just finished restoring a single axle R719,and as far as I know,it's the only restored one around.I have a '68 R719ST spec'd like yours with the heavy rears,but the V8 was replaced with a 237 Maxidyne. I have a twin turbo 864 to put back in it someday.If you do decided to take yours out,don't throw anything away,I might need some pieces,but if I were you,I'd leave it in and fix it. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
