I have a 2001 CH613 with a E7 460. It quit on me the other day like it was running out of fuel. Luckily it made it back to the shop, but after I shut it down and tried to start it back it did nothing but spin over. I put a new supply pump on it ( the one on the side with the hand primer) . Took for ever to get it started. After it started drove it for about 30 min. and parked it , thought it was fine. Went out to start it today and it ran for about 5 - 10 min. and started skipping like it was running out of fuel. Never started again without filling filters up. Once it used all the fuel in the filters it quit again. Anybody have any ideas?

Check you fuel tank for trash or large contaminants that could be blocking the pickup tube. We had a truck that would run fine and then just run out of fuel. Shined a light in the tank and found the fuel cap lock inside the tank. We've found alot of other trash over the years to, napkins, gloves, gravel but these were put there on purpose. The fuel cap lock just broke off and caused problems.

Thanks guys. Still had the same problems this morning. Changed all fuel lines, check valve, all the brass fittings, fuel filters again, and the supply pump. Still doing the same thing . I'll check the pick up tube tomorrow . Is there a special kind of dye that goes in the fuel to check the orings on the injectors . Also is there any special tools nessary to pull the injectors out of the E7. I'm no master mechanic but common sence goes a long way. Really hope it doesn't come down to that, but it's not looking good . Thanks for the info.

take you a 5 gallon jug and sit it on top of motor run the suction line off of the lift pump to the jug full of fuel that is higher than the pump. if it is a suction problem example debris or a loose or bad line this will let you know that. If it still does the same thing it is after the lift pump.. The Lift pumps that Mack used on these models where nothing short of junk. they are a fiber gear with a brass bushing inserted into it is not splined or anything and they have been known to spin inside the fiber gear, and when you have one that spins it is hard to tell. you have to hold the stainless shaft with needle nose pliers and spin the fiber gear. i have had them spin some days and some days it would be fine..

Good morning.   My husband's 2007 Mack, MP7 is randomly losing fuel prime and quits.  Sometimes it won't start and now quits while going down the road.  He has had the fuel pump, fuel filter base and fuel filters replaced.  It has been in the Mack shop 3 times and another mechanic twice.  Currently back at the Mack shop as it quit on him in busy traffic.  Any help is appreciated.
