This is a crane I have been working on with a few friends this summer. Im pretty excited because it has been unable to swing/rotate for the last 20+ years. I think the crane came originally from a base in Maryland possibly based on notes in the parts book. It went from being owned by the Navy to Harley Davidson in Pennsylvania to George and Jim Humphrey in Maine. Humphrey was a Mack truck restorer and has owned it for the last 20yrs until selling to me. Im having a lot of fun with getting it operational and the time has started to pay off as its all working now. It will take some time to finish but I will use it at our shop yard. The next step is putting the gearboxes back together and replacing all the air lines and some hydraulic line. The pic is loading it up at Humphreys Garage to haul back to my shop. It would be handy to have around the shop for sure....no more scratching your head to figure out how to pick up something heavy! Be careful with it but enjoy. ws721 Posted November 16, 2013 Share Posted November 16, 2013 That is cool. I have a Sargent crawler crane that we use around here for engine transplants, etc... Use to load it and take to the Barrington truck show but it a pain to load as it doesn't crawl so good anymore. Old iron is just plain fun! Quote Remember if it's got a hood it's no good!
