Trucker Who Struck, Killed AZ Trooper Was Looking At Porn on Facebook

Recommended Posts

Money, sex, and fire; everybody thinks everyone else is getting more than they are!

Wow! Porn or not...too many people are busy with their "mobile devices" to pay attention to their driving. I see it everyday. Too bad for the officer and his family!

Wondered when this would get brought up. Saw it on news yesterday and was just sick. The driver was trying to hide is doings by hanging his wallet over the dashcam.

Just thinking "what if" his tanker was full and he crashed and burned a schoolbus load of kids??

Ugh.

We had this here reciently, bus driver texting hit a light pole. The pole fell on a stroller and killed the baby.

I (for one) am getting pretty sick and damn tired of hearing about these assholes in trucks, cars or whatever using their "mobile devices" when driving, especially truck drivers! No damn excuse for inattentive driving period! I don't know how many times a week i'll pass another truck,or one will pass me, with some douche watching a DVD,using a computer, texting etc.WHILE DRIVING! I'm no rat by any means, but if I can get their info,i turn their asses in! ALL "mobile devices" are prohibited from use while operating a CMV,that means ALL! And of course the asshole that caused this needless death comes out un-hurt! Trooper doing his job, trying to prevent these things, gets killed for his trouble! govt. should come down hard on not only this asshole, but the trucking company that hired the POS!..................Mark

We have laws about texting, talking on the phone or using your i pad, why aren't they enforced? Law enforcement to indifferent? To much paper work? Not worth the fines? Ordered not to do it? Lack of enforcement appears to be nation wide, so whats the problem?

Going out to pick up fat burgers a 1/2 hour ago sat at a 4 way stop and watched a oil truck not even slow down for it, he was texting as he went through it, never even looked up.

I don't get it either, I've had people tell me many times "I met you on 460 (or where-ever) the other day and waved at you and you never even saw me, you were looking straight ahead!" I thought that's where I was supposed to be looking.

Some of today's Qualcomm's, Peoplenet's etc are the size of laptops. I pass trucks at night where the driver's have the screens lit up because they need the GPS to drive on the interstate. Maybe they're insecure and need the little voice to tel them "you're doing fine, just keep going straight". Either way, those screens must be a distraction, especially at night.

That's just sad, I see people being dumb around me all the time. I just really hope that people take this into account. Turn on your radio, and put your phone outta reach!
