Mack Cab Builders?

I know the current conventionals are built by Mayflower and I believe the MR and LE are built by a company in the Quad Cities, but what company historically built Mack's cabs?

I'm reaching way back into my memory banks, but IIRC, it was the Sheller Globe Co. that built the R, U, & DM cabs, and the Chicago Manufacturing Co. that built the B model cabs.

The B model cabs were made by the Chicago Manufacturing Co and also at that time it made the International Comfovision cab that was widely used by International trucks across it's model range, Leyland in Canada, Hendricksen and Diamond T. CM Co used the same door locks and striker plates on the B model and the Inter cabs.

For the special order cabs like the extended sleeper cabs all cabs once fully built by CM Co were then sent onto the Orville Specialty Metal Co in Ohio with the extra body parts if applicable and the cabs were then modified repainted and refitted with all internals. For some applications OSM CO had the frame onsite and fitted the cab onto the frame and completed the truck ready for delivery to the customer.

not sure of the other cabovers but a N Model shared the same cab as a C Series Ford cabover

The 50's IH cab was used on IH, Diamond-T, Hendrickson,available & FWD. Mack B cabs were very similar to REO Military, IH KB. The LT LJ cab is similar to the H model. A model macks were similar to wc whites. While the F model cab was bigger than the R you can see that it was the similar in style
