I was in contact with the main historian at John Deere yesterday, and he told me he doubted if he could find out much,as they mainly concentrated on records of stuff they built, not what they bought for use.But he was very interested and said he would start checking some old factorty photos to see if by chance there were any pics of the trucks.

Just curious how did you contact the historian. Years ago I could contact an archivist at John Deere by phone. It was Les Seg or Vicky Ellery. Then they got to busy for phone contact and you could write to them for information on tractors. Since Jack Cheery to over you must go thru him for a fee to get information.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know how they did the chassis numbers for the AB's? Obviously they are not sequential since two trucks delivered within weeks of each other are 150,000+ numbers apart.

Money, sex, and fire; everybody thinks everyone else is getting more than they are!
