You know for years and years, the done  lights that came with the trucks stock were not worth  shit we used to take off the lens and put a tail light bulb in it. Think they were a number . 97They used to work pretty good after that, but Without doing that, you couldn’t see anything with the stock lamp It’s only been within the past few years they work pretty good now right from the factory it pretty much the same time I went to Elogs and you really didn’t need the light anymore anyway except eating your lunch at night

thanks for that ill pass it on is that the one you need?????found this onethumbnail.thumb.png.5b95e2148cb139f2aff4dc9d14518656.pngne

The dome/map light i was looking for is the one Mack used in some of the 92-93 model MH. My MH is a 93, but it was missing when i got the truck. Apparently there had been a small leak at some point at the airhorn and they took the dome light and headliner out when they were working on it. The dome light never got replaced for some reason.

So when I ran across this these threads with Farmer and BC and a couple others talking about this, I wanted to share what info I had. I just basically want this style because it's original to my year of MH cabover.

Here's the one I'm talking about mowerman. Vanderhaggs has this one listed for sake, but it's busted up so I've been trying to find a good one out of a salvage truck.

Thanks Bob for the heads up.  I found a used lamp MANY years ago.  I gave up looking for a backup (new or used).  Looking at the pic from Walmart, it is not even close to either the early or later lamp.

The one posted by @BottleHauler84may be correct but too fuzzy to see any detail.  Perhaps you can get a better image.  My concern would be the wiring and connections.  I am not a fan of "modifications" but I guess something is better than nothing.

Thanks to both for your research and updates.

As soon as I put my hands on one I'll let you know bud. I too am not a fan of changing the wiring connections. I want to keep as original as possible.  I'd love to find a brand new old stock,  but has proven to be impossible unfortunately.

I'll definitely post the results of this soon as I get it.

That’s really, wierd you wouldn’t think I domelight would be that hard to find. Good luck. Funny thing is the stock light in my DM is available through various websites. And I really don’t even need one.

I absolutely agree with you 100%. As many of those dome lights that were used, you would think there would be a few NOS ones floating around.
