I like that you are bolting it on instead of welding it, as far as receiver height I think you look ok, you can also get drop or adjustable hitches, I have several up to a 9" for my dually pickup so I could pull a small trailer

Leslie here are some pics you asked me for I will get you some more when I get the truck later this week. You can see its all welded on flush to the rear frame and braced across the top, the plate is 1/2" steel with the trailer plug tucked in on the right side out of sight.
