farmer52 Posted January 18, 2014 Share Posted January 18, 2014 I was able to get a good close-up of the chrome issue on the "NOS" grille. I tried some chrome polish and it seems to help but you can still see the fine "pits" in the chrome, not a smooth mirror finish. Bottom pic is before polish. Thoughts? j hancock Posted January 19, 2014 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Sometimes old chrome could be saved with very careful use of triple 0 steel wool to remove imperfections.Doubtful with chromed plastic.Maybe practice with "chrome" paint from the hobby store? It may be suitable for just very small parts though. Paul or Pawel would know more.Several video clip on chrome plastic on Youtube which may give you some ideas. I am looking to do the same with my turn signals, can't get crome ones so plan to send them out and have rechromed.
