First take a truck like a fire truck or armored military vehicle, build it on a medium duty chassis that has no centering pins for the springs,yes folks they just sit there no pins to keep em lined up like a steer axle on most of em. Next load the suspension to the max 24/7, like a fire truck full of water or an armored military vehicle, then never retorque the u bolts after its delivered, there is a torque spec and they are supposed to be retightened according to the maintenance schedule. I have heard "its a fire truck it doesnt have enough miles to be retorquing bolts yet" the key being it is "ALWAYS" loaded and "ALWAYS" used under what the axle and suspension manufacturers consider "extreme conditions". So you have springs and pads that have been compressed under load for years, maybe not many miles but still compressed, then when you use it drive it wide open and stop hard putting maximum strain on the stuff holding the axle in the truck. I had been told by an older guy around here they used tio unload lumber by pulling it to the back with a chain or something until it would tip, then just driving out from under it slow, never believed it till now. Once in a while the truck would crack a spoke if the ground was soft and the truck bounced.
