Hello....As most of you know I just bought a dump for my excavation business. I'm curious what most are getting for a load of fill dirt or chert and what size of a load goes with that price. Looks like most local hauls around here are getting around $8 yard. Help is appreciated!

I appreciate everyone's input. Things are different in my area. Most of the material below the topsoil is suitable for a decent compaction, some better than others. It also depends on if there's an engineer involved...lol The price range here varies from $7 - $14 a cy. The big contract jobs get better than that sometimes. Of course, it can be moved onsite a lot cheaper.

I charge $85.00 for a triaxle load here in town in Eastern Arkansas. We're in the Mississippi delta down here, and alluvial top soil is easy to come by. Once you get up in the Ozarks and it gets rocky, clean topsoil fetches upwards of $200.00, or so I've heard.
