A couple people I know had Scanias and they did pretty well. All had smaller motors. A couple were in Mack R400 series trucks.

Parts avalibilty for the Scania can be tough but then again even getting parts for R models now can be tough.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

We had some Head gasket prob's when they got older but not a bad engine in a city or small dump truck, they started with trouble when they started puttin em in big 25yd tandem garbage trucks and big dumps! and it wasn't the motors fault just to much for the motor!

I remember a fleet of mixers with the engine in B models. They were not turboed. These trucks had the small quad trans and wedge brakes.

Are u sure that wasn't that small Mack Motor I think it was a 465 ci with a TRQ 77? Couldn't pull the skin off a hot dog!! We had one in a MB 400 TRD 77 trans.
