jswilliams Posted May 25, 2014 Share Posted May 25, 2014 I've got a 1996 e7 330 that has started cutting off over and over. Cranks back up fine without hesitation but right away it cuts back off . jswilliams Posted May 26, 2014 Author Share Posted May 26, 2014 I was getting a shutdown light and didn't realize low coolant would keep it from running. I topped off the reservoir and so far it's running fine. jswilliams Posted May 27, 2014 Author Share Posted May 27, 2014 Spoke to soon. It's cutting off again. Electronic malfunction and engine shutdown lights coming on. Tried to bypass coolant level sensor w a paper clip but I don't know if that's even possible. Any other things i need to check? j_martell Posted May 27, 2014 Share Posted May 27, 2014 If you have a multimeter you could check the resistance (ohms) of the various sensor and confirm them against know parameters....which i dont have, maybe if you ask the techs nicely they will help....lolSome one else may have other methods..... jswilliams Posted May 28, 2014 Author Share Posted May 28, 2014 I finally started unplugging sensors and it just so happened that I started with one on the oil filter base and it cured the problem.
