Doing a search in the electrical forum will get you more info.

Here is one

http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/3004-positive-to-negative-ground-conversion/?hl=%2Bconversion+%2Bnegative

I have a couple positive ground trucks and a couple negative ground and if properly maintained, both systems work equally well.

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Thanks. .. I did a search and found that post. .. I'm getting conflicting information. .. change gauge, switch wires on the buss bars and so on ... I did this conversation many years ago on the 71 DM in the picture you see in my signature. I only remember changing the alt. And the amp and temp gauge but I think I can just reverse the wires on the gauge

Change Alternator, reverse wires on Amp and Temp Gauge and Batteries Not sure about the fuel gauge. If you have a radio or CB they have to be changed. Some have a dip switch to change ground from plus to negative. Paul

Thanks that's what I remember doing but it's been since the 80 ' s ... no cb yet it has a radio with a converter but the converter blew ... only reason I want to go negative ground is I'm putting ac satellite radio and other creature comforts

When I changed my B over I did the same as mentioned but also had to change the fuel gauge and sending unit. I got the units from Summit Racing for just a little over $100. The one thing to be careful of is to match the gauge and sending unit OHM ratings. No problems since conversion.

I was told to just reverse the wires on the gauges

That is all you need to do for the fuel gauge(s)
