I think I have seen this one before- if it is one in the same, it is an ex-FDNY rig and is only geared to do top speed 43mph +/-

I'm not sure... If it's a 1971 and the body is original, it's not a FDNY spec body for the year. in the early '70's I'm nearly positive that the drivers side would have had compartments as low as the officers side and there would have been two or three lengths of hard suction over the wheel well. I don't think FDNY started buying Mack engines with full height driver side compartments until the Ward79's much later on. I could be wrong though so feel free to correct me.
