I have heard so many different things is it for better vision and the cab can sit farther ahead? james j neiweem Posted December 13, 2014 Share Posted December 13, 2014 I thought the main reason for the U was to give the driver room away from the doghouse, and the better left side visibility was an added feature.Does that Mayberry rig have an F model cab. I often wondered why Mack didn't use the F model cab for a conventional since the other manufacturers of the time were going to larger cabs. Mack didn't go to a larger cab until the CH almost 20 years behind the the competition(ford L. GMC, IH, white/autocar.
