gicknordon Posted August 6, 2014 Share Posted August 6, 2014 My dad has a 1987 mack tandem dump truck. The t- 2060 transmission was run low on oil and either needs replaced or rebuilt. The guy he usually take his transmissions to says it might be worth it to get a reman or rebuilt since running it low on oil might have changed the temper on the smaller gears. My question is is there any other make transmissions that will fit the same as the 2060. I read somewhere that the 2070 would fit, but i want to make sure of this first since a local truck parts place has a few 2070's but no 2060's. Superdog Posted August 8, 2014 Share Posted August 8, 2014 the 2060 has a .60 overdrive,so you'll want to replace it with either another 2060 or a 2070,most other trans.,Mack and Fuller have .71 to .86 overdrives,if you got one of them,you'd be geared too slow Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

gicknordon Posted August 18, 2014 Author Share Posted August 18, 2014 Just an update on this. It looks like some of the issues we were having were from a clutch going bad.
