We have an aussie spec'd mack quantum, with two damaged injector and fuel solenoids, cam followers are jammed in the block and the cam shaft is also damaged. does anyone know what caused this? If you have had this problem what did you replace?

Did you remove the motor from the truck or can the problems be rectified with the motor in place?

Maybe an engine overspeed? Overspeed could explain the cam and lifter damage. Not sure about the injectors. Ive never seen a Quantum, so Im not sure if there is enough room to pull the cam out while engine is in. Our garbage trucks are cab overs, and the cam can be easily pulled without pulling the engine.
