Came home with a '89 R Model Today. Looks to have the 300 or 350 but would like to know which. I believe the previous owner said it started as a single axle tractor and an area shop put tandem camelback rears under it and replaced the factory 5 speed with a 10 speed. I assume there are codes stamped on the engine to determine the engine HP or even a plate but didn't see them. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, I'll look tomorrow. Our old '78 has the 300 in it. It's amazing how they sound and pull alike. The newer one has power steering, power steering, and power steering, which makes it a little nicer. Not even that excited about the A/C but really fired up about the power steering. It'll just be hauling grain out of the field and Macks are set up perfect for that. Our old '78 just plain has the torque, so much that even if you should have downshifted 3 or 4 gears, it'll usually pull out of it. Spent less on that Mack than several pickups. Amazing trucks.
