It is less that one month until the 25th Anniversary of Mack Day at Gerhart Equipment in Lititz, PA. The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of ATCA will be assisting with the event. We always welcome a helping hand, so if you could spare a few minutes to volunteer, please let me know.

If you are attending Mack Trucktoberfest, arrangements can be made for truck parking for the week in between. There are several secure locations that have been made available. Please inquire for more information.

Thanks, Doug

Doug,

Thanks for the info. I plan to attend and will arrive on Thursday afternoon. I sent you a PM several weeks ago.

Ron,

Do you offer an "exterminator" service. The spiders keep multiplying. :tease:

I have a couple projects going in Maryland and DC so I am shipping my Harley back and riding up to the show with a good friend. It will be the first time I have been to the show so really looking forward to it. Thought about running the big Aussie Mack out but it is too damn high to ship on any of our lowdecks so I'd have to drive both ways..

what hotel is a good one?

Don't know about hotels but if you want to come to my house in Boyertown you can drive one of my trucks out.

I am staying at the Rodeway Inn in Akron, PA. It is an "old time" motel, park close to your room door. The rooms are "dated" but clean. All I need is a clean room, decent bed, and a shower. Been staying there for several years. Owners are friendly. It is about seven (7) miles from Gerhart's. Some good eating establishments are Oregon Farms Dairy (south of Akron) and Lititz Family Cupboard just north of Lititz. There is a good Italian restaurant (Piero's) within walking distance of the Rodeway Inn. But don't forget the Clam Bake on Friday night at Gerhart's....good food and good people. Leversole and I did not get "dunlap's disease" from lack of good food. :whistling:

Leslie,

Are you brining your golf cart so we can tour the grounds looking at wimmin trucks?

There is a Quality Inn - Lantern Lodge here in Myerstown at the intersection of 501 and 422 that a few of the guys are staying at. It is about 20 miles from the show, there is a bar at the hotel and within walking distance of quite a few restaurants.

I'm glad you can make it Mackdaddy. I do understand that you are not able to bring a truck.

The Friday evening Mack Brothers Clam Bake Re-inactment is being planned. If you haven't attended before and would like to, please let me know so we can order enough food.

Thanks, Doug

Thanks to everyone for the information. Mike, I would love to get some stick time in but can't commit at this time. Thanks for the generous offer!

Rodeway Inn looks great and the hint of good old PEEA Italian food suits me just fine. I was born and grew up in the New Castle, PA area.

Doug

do we contribute/pay for the clam bake at that time? let me know and put down 2 of us.

last year was my first year there and even tho we didn't bring a truck its a very nice show. there is a brewery in downtown Lititz(surprise vinny right?) that we stopped at for good food and a cocktail and there is a good choc factory a few blocks over. worth stopping in in my opinion. we plan on comin dow for the day again but just driving the Iroc down, not takin the truck. anyone have any suggestions on directions from the north ? im comin down 81 from Ny and last year it seems we took the round about way to get to the show and there was a few detours.

This is about the best route from from I-81.

Exit 85 on I-81 - Route 934 south to route 322 below Annville

Route 322 east to route 501

Route 501 south to Newport Rd (left at Sheetz)

Newport Rd to Brunnerville Rd (left at first traffic light)

Brunnerville Rd north approximately 3/4 mile

Gerhart Equipment on Left

The fact they dont have exit numbers helps too.... We ended up in national park with a superliner and a lowbed due to our wonderful directions.....

Matt

Ill be out there Friday. I don't know if I can make it Saturday. No General again since its still sitting since it was towed.

It is looking to be a great show. We are recreating the Superliner row or rows again this year. There will be many other highlights this year.
