Macks and brand X'rs at the Big Iron Classic Kasson MN 2014

I went up to Kasson this weekend for the Big Iron Classic in Kasson MN. This is turning into one of my favorite shows.

Its a non award show and I think that is one of the reasons so many trucks show up because these guys don't have

to worry about it turning into a polishing contest. Bring em as, is polished or not, all are welcome. Were a few Macks

there this year, some same as last but my favorite this year was the Wayne transport Value Liner. They are an all

Pete fleet now with a really nice yard just up the road from Kasson but they put together a nice old Mack. The CAT

powered Michaeletz Superliner was there again and also ran in the truck pulls. No body brought the R-model water

truck, that was just there for the track, just a water truck. Saw Jakebrake's BCR but I did not see Jake. Truck looked

good though. All told I think there was about 450 trucks this year, maybe more and 73 ran in the truck pulls.

Saw a few GMC Generals at Kasson this year. Was thinking JT Formula might like these. Even had a long hood and a short

hood parked side by side. The black truck ran in the pulls. Had a screaming Detroit in it. Did ok.

That yellow and orange General looks familiar. Is that from Fl? Someone down that way sent pics of an extended hood General he built. Just wondering if it found its way north

Not sure. Had MN plates on it.

Here are a few of my Brand X favorites. The red Pete had a KTTA Cummins in it. Very custom. Tow Mater had some serious HP under the

hood, was a pulling truck. Liked the big A-car.

Brian, Thanks for posting the pictures. I was looking for you. Just had a suspicion you might be there. This was the first year that I didn't bring the B 61 and I don't think there was any there. I noticed more people look at the B61 than the BCR. By looking at your truck pull pictures, we were not far from you in the stands. I'm glad Dennis had his H67. We need more older ones to off set some of that chrome. Jake

Looks like it was great show. I like the "come as you are" theme-makes you feel as if you actually went back in time.

I'll bet the BCR would get at least as much attention as the B if everyone knew what they were looking at

I think the KTTA is 1100 cubic inches. TTA is for twin turbo aftercooled. I think they are around 800 to 900hp. Don't know

if those are exact numbers but I believe it is close to that.

I was wondering if you were by me. I saw a gal in a wheelchair that had a "Spirit" jacket on the back of her chair and I thought you might be around

but when I looked I didn't see you. Figured you might have been in the pits since you had your truck registered. When I got up for beer soda I went

out the other way. Was probably 30 feet from you and didn't know it.

Yes I did. I don't know how they keep em nice either. They must have a better pit crew than me.
