Depends on what type if driving you do. I'm mostly local with a roll off so hrs are way high for the kilometres on the truck.

Don't think any formula could get it across the board

I always used the following formula as a good rule of thumb...

Highway vehicle: miles / 50mph = hours (hours x 50mph = miles)

Off-Highway vehicle: hours x 30mph = miles (miles / 30mph = hours)
