Last weekends good fortune.....

I had two points races at Pittsburgh, so I couldn't make Truckfest.

We had two races(sat and sun).............and I took home ALL the marbles on Saturday!!!

Yup, six rounds of agony, but I beat them all. Well, four of the rounds my opponent beat themself. I have FOUR redlights against me and then a bye into the final round. It was a long day, final was about 10pm. I was having a horrible time finding the tree(bad reaction times during time trials). I did get straightened out by first round enough to not redlight myself or sleep too bad. First round .080 light, 2nd round .058, third round .028, fourth round I choked to a .102. The bye run I chopped it with a .013 and the final was .026.

Payout? $1000 to win!! Ya, I did okay.

I tried again Sunday, but 2nd round I gave it up with too much stripe(.03 breakout) even though I had a much better light(.036 to his .105). It was a much faster car and I misjudged the finish line. Oh well.

The weather was PURRRFECT. You couldn't have asked for a better weekend for racing. It was the PID Keystone Nostalgia Nationals with front engine dragsters and funny cars running along with us and the 422 Motorsports S/S class.

BTW, the tightening of the king pin slop really helped with wheel shake on the highway. WOW...it is near glass smooth now. At least for all that the ol wobble wheels can be. I was impressed.

Also got some pics of a really cool "rat rod". I'll get them downloaded and post them in the near future. Cat powered sedan on a truck chassis with full air ride, etc.

My car is experiencing severe control problems beyond mid track. Mis welded rear from Currie. Waiting for its return from them. At least they stood behind their product. Paul

Yup, I'll take ANY win. I just have to laugh when people(usually unhappy racers) that pout and piss/moan about how they lost and should won, blah, blah, blah. It has been a couple years since I won a race. I was due. Been having a reall piss poor summer, going out first round with .010 redlights!!! Dammit.

I remember back to 2006, final race for the season and I was in the points lead. I had 4 redlights and an easy win in the final(buddy slept bad at the light). The poor losers were just bitching up a storm that I won like that. Hell, I cut decent lights all day, I can't help that THEY couldn't wait! Being the slower car in the field has its good and bads. I can redlight first or you can redlight waiting!
