I have three older RD's with E-7, 275's and 300 engines. All are mainly used for winter plowing duties, none very severe. Each truck generally only puts on about 700 to 800 miles per year, and 70-90 engine hours if that. I always struggle with what oil change frequency I should try to follow. All trucks are heated garage kept during the winter months. Any ideas welcome.

I have 4 macks which get between 100 to 200 hours a year. I do oil change, fuel filters, water filter and other maintenance once a year.

I do tranny and diff oils every 3 years.

Oil is cheap as long as everything keeps running.

My trucks are in a cold storage shed during winter but we don't put a lot of hours on in the winter

Take used oil samples and have them analyzed. Check for contaminants - water and fuel in addition to wear metals, viscosity, and TBN/TAN. I do not change my "low use" vehicles every year.
