Popular Post ranchhopper Posted October 12, 2014 Popular Post Share Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) I have been looking for the right truck to buy today I may have found it a RS700L straight five speed I believe it has a 237 under the hood I pulled a lowboy with one just like it in the early eighties. Its a 73 single frame very minimal rust I started it up and it ran like a champ looks like the original interior is intact looks like it had new door gaskets put in sometime recently has 670 thousand miles on it hauling grain owner was very meticulous with maintaining it whats a good ballpark price to pay for a truck like this? The best part its very close to home the first thing that will go is the spoked front wheels and a set of aluminum beds will take their place doesn't have power steering but my old lowboy tractor didn't either.. Superdog Posted October 12, 2014 Share Posted October 12, 2014 I think I know that truck,looks just like one that used to belong to Mark Kamp(he tried to trade it to me for my twin turbo V8),then it was part of the same collection that Dr.Bill's W71 was in for awhile,then that guy had a thinning out auction and it sold there. ranchhopper Posted October 12, 2014 Author Share Posted October 12, 2014 Went and checked out a 1970 R600 with a V8 too another hour and a half further away wasn't worth the trip guy wanted 4500 for it but it had a lot of rust turned around and finally got home at 9 PM I started out heading to look at the R700 at 1 PM after working six hours it was a long day. ranchhopper Posted October 12, 2014 Author Share Posted October 12, 2014 No pics of the R600 guy said it was in pretty good shape without a fifth wheel well it was rusty and did have a fifth wheel still on it I didn't take any pictures of it though it is black with twin chrome stacks on it. I really didn't spend much time there the place was locked up but the guy told me park on the side of the road and walk in didn't want any hassles with the local law seeing me marching around in there while the place was closed. I've been there and never saw the V8 R600. The one you saw is this oneIt's a R773 with a 318 Detroit,it's rough,the hood needs major work,they've had it forever and won't budge on the price.
