My gearbox on my mack vision is heating and I have changed the oil cooler and refilled the oil in the gearbox but it is still heating

I have cleaned the breather as well but it is still doing same

There is a slight leak in one of the hoses but it is very minimal

What should I do.it is a road ranger gearbox with 18 speed

Check the hoses for a restriction.

Do you have a way to get the actual temp. like a laser thermometer? It may be hot but still within an acceptable temperature range for the trans. Does the lube smell like it is burning?

Jim

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

What trans and how hot.....

Most Fullers are good to about 250*, maybe higher, might be 350....after that the heat wrecks the heat-treating of the gears.....I commonly get 200* from my 8LL in the summer

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part....

if 100 degrees above outside air temp check it out, as suggested a laser temp gun is quick and easy, also check the temp from one side of the cooler to the other.

is the trans cooler clean? is it in the air flow or blocked by a exhaust pipe? or other obstruction. you said you have a sm. leak is it in a hose? if so the inside could be collapsed and obstructing the oil flow.
